A team of intrepid and dedicated Cosgrove fundraisers recently raised a fantastic £5,420.00 for the charity through participation in the virtual Kiltwalk in September 2020. A team of ten took part in various activities across the weekend of 11-13 September to try to replicate the Kiltwalk challenge that was sadly sidelined this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Activities included taking on the West Highland Way, a coastal walk of East Neuk, a 26 mile walk/cycle activity, and treks around Cumbrae to name but a few!
Heather Gray, Cosgrove’s CEO who took part in the challenge said, “I am so grateful to all the people who took part and raised vital funds for Cosgrove Care. There has never been a more important time for charities to step up to mark and support our communities. We are so grateful to Sir Tom Hunter for has incredible generosity.”
Kirsten Oswald, MP for East Renfrewshire, who was a part of Team Cosgrove and participated by walking across all of the major East Renfrewshire settlements in a single day, said, “a huge well done to the whole team – what a great achievement and amount of funds raised. Thanks for letting me be part of this. I’d better get into training for next year!”
This amount is in addition to £4030 raised from initial Kiltwalk fundraising from earlier in the year.
