Cosgrove Care have been delivering an innovative new group every Sunday in the dining room at Barrland Court. The group is for people living in Barrland Court and other local people experiencing isolation and loneliness and aims to keep people connected, sustain emotional and physical wellbeing and have some fun. The group meets every second Sunday and is free to attend. Cosgrove Care receives funding from Voluntary Action East Renfrewshire to run the group through the Wellbeing Fund and is one of two initiatives set up by the charity locally. Recently guests were entertained by a local musical duo with much singing and dancing.
A bowl of hot soup and snacks are served on a Sunday and the charity has seen 20 people come along to the group. For more information, please email care@cosgrovecare.org.uk.
Cosgrove Care have been working in partnership with Hanover Housing for a number of years, successfully supporting people with a range of needs in the local community. The charity will shortly be launching dementia sessions every Thursday which will focus on wellbeing and creative arts using the dining room which will be open to people living in Barrland Court and those living locally too.
