Blair McDougall, MP Visits Cosgrove Care to Meet Key Staff and Supported People

Cosgrove Care was delighted to welcome new MP for East Renfrewshire, Blair McDougall to meet key staff, volunteers and supported people at our base at May Terrace, Giffnock on Friday 9th August. Cosgrove Care CEO Heather Gray and DCEO Anna Templeton talked to Blair about challenges that exist in social care locally as well as the positive impact of our volunteer and group programme which aims to connect people and supports emotional and physical well-being.

Blair joined our Cosgrove Care Players for a sneak preview of our next production and met our amazing actors and Drama Facilitator, Clare Hume.

We discussed recruitment and funding challenges and our work with Ukrainian Refugees. We shared details of our work and the dimensions of our organisation with Blair and heard about what it was like to be an MP too.

We were joined by Gael and Audrey, two supported people to hear about their experience of recruitment and training of social care staff.

We are looking forward to working closely with Blair and are very grateful to him for taking time out to speak with us.
