Sylvia Livingston was chair of the Ladies Guild and a council member of the original Cosgrove House, as it was known, before becoming Cosgrove Care.
Her involvement in Cosgrove was primarily due to having her Down’s Syndrome sister Rhona, living firstly in Cosgrove House as one of the original residents then at Arnside for many years after.
Her dedication to fundraising for the charity, including many bazaars, can collections and social events, was one of the most important things in her life after her family.
Her legacy lives on through her daughters Arlene and Joan and their respective families.
