Cosgrove’s community support is only possible with our team of fantastic volunteers who give up their time to help others in their local community. Below are just some of the activities that our volunteers assist with to help us in our work, if you would like to get involved, please contact care@cosgrovecare.org.uk for more info!
Our Community Shopping Volunteers
Cosgrove just couldn’t do all we do without the ongoing support and dedication and commitment of our volunteers. They are as much at the heart of our organisation as they were when it was founded back in the 1960s.
Many of our Community shopping volunteers shop weekly , Mondays or Wednesdays within our local community for people that cannot shop for themselves due to age, health, mobility issues.
If you can spare an hour or two, please get in touch if you would like to do some community shopping volunteering. It doesn’t need to be a weekly commitment.
Several of our community shopping volunteers are school pupils working towards their Duke of Edinburgh Award and it’s an ideal volunteering opportunity for them.
Cosgrove Volunteer Drivers
Our dedicated driving volunteers help out on an ad hoc basis, with our Afternoon tea fundraising events, dropping off afternoon tea boxes to addresses locally.
On a weekly basis our volunteer driver drops off Morrison’s food parcels to several families.
We are currently seeking confident drivers to support our children and adult services outings and local activities on an occasional, ad hoc basis.
We have a dedicated long standing car maintenance volunteer, who keeps a watchful eye over our fleet of vehicles, ensuring their fed and watered and well maintained.
Please get in touch if interested.
Cosgrove Befriending Volunteers
Our volunteer befrienders give a little bit of their time on a regular basis – weekly, fortnightly – to make a big difference to the life of someone we support; getting out and about in the community, going for a coffee, a walk in the park, a trip into town and such like.
We are currently seeking male and female befrienders, please get in touch to find out more.
Gardening Volunteers – We’re currently looking for volunteer gardeners to help maintain our garden in May Terrace , Giffnock.
The garden is an important space, enjoyed in fine weather by the children and adults we support and for our staff and volunteers to take a break in the sun.
If you enjoy gardening and can spare a little bit of your time, please get in touch.
